Movement is techno's homecoming. Held at Hart Plaza on the Detroit riverfront — in the very city where techno was born — it is the genre's annual pilgrimage, and the house and techno bookings run deep and serious. Line-up

The 2027 line-up is not yet announced — it typically drops in the months before. Movement reliably gathers Detroit's own legends alongside the biggest international house and techno names across multiple stages, including the legendary underground stage. Tickets & the after-parties

Tickets are sold as 3-day passes, starting around $55 GA / $60 VIP at presale (final-tier prices rise as they sell). Buy from the official site; past-year buyers get loyalty-presale access.
The after-parties are half the festival. Movement is famous for an enormous official-and-unofficial after-party circuit that runs all night across Detroit's clubs, warehouses and lofts — for many, the after-hours are the real reason to come. These are ticketed separately and sell out; watch Resident Advisor and the promoters once dates are set.
Getting around: the festival partners with Detroit transit (the People Mover loop and the QLine streetcar) and official hotels — useful for hopping between Hart Plaza and the after-parties.

How a foreign visitor plans it

Fly into Detroit Metro (DTW); downtown is compact and the riverfront venue is central. Memorial Day weekend is the long-weekend kickoff to the US summer, so book accommodation early. Age policy isn't stated on the current official FAQ — Movement has historically welcomed all ages with over-21 areas for alcohol, but confirm on the official site before you plan around it.
