Awakenings 2026 at a glance

Awakenings is the Netherlands' biggest and most respected techno festival, and one of the defining events of the European summer. For 2026 the flagship outdoor edition runs Friday 10 – Sunday 12 July at the festival grounds in Hilvarenbeek, in the south of the country, with sets daily from around 15:00 to 23:00 and an after-hours camping zone. Always confirm details on the official site.

It is techno-leaning by reputation, but across its many areas the programming spans the full spectrum — driving warehouse techno, hypnotic and minimal, and the melodic, house-adjacent end of the sound. The production — sound systems, staging and lighting — is the reason DJs and fans call it a benchmark.

The 2026 line-up

The 2026 bill is headlined by Charlotte de Witte, Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin, Nina Kraviz, Boris Brejcha, Ben Klock and Marco Carola, among 150+ artists across the weekend. Check the official programme for stage splits and set times closer to the event.

It's sold out — how to still get in

The 2026 festival is sold out. Do not buy from touts or random resellers — fakes and inflated prices are common. The only safe route is official resale via TicketSwap (linked from the Awakenings site), where verified tickets are sold at capped prices. Keep checking it in the weeks before — returns appear, especially for single days.

If you miss out, the same crew runs an Awakenings ADE edition in Amsterdam during the Amsterdam Dance Event (21–25 October 2026) — see our ADE first-timer guide — and tickets for the 2027 summer festival go on sale months ahead.

How a foreign visitor actually does it

  • Tickets are personalised and sealed. Your e-ticket is tied to the buyer and released a few days before; bring government-issued photo ID that matches it. This is also why resale must go through the official TicketSwap channel.
  • The site is cashless and token-based. Buy tokens with cash or card at token stations across the festival and camping grounds, then pay for food and drinks with tokens.
  • Camping is part of the experience. The campsite opens Friday midday and closes Monday morning, with options from your own tent to pre-pitched tents and cabins — book early as part of your ticket.
  • Getting there: Hilvarenbeek is near Tilburg in North Brabant; most international visitors fly into Amsterdam (Schiphol) or Eindhoven and take a train plus the festival shuttle. Plan the return — it's rural and the last sets run late.
